Overview
The Basic B.Sc Nursing course trains students in professional nursing practices, healthcare systems, and medical science. It prepares them to work in hospitals, clinics, and research institutions as skilled and responsible healthcare professionals.
Purpose
The Basic B.Sc. Nursing is a Bacalaureate Degree Program of 8 (eight) semester, leading to the award of a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The aims of the undergraduate program are to.

Equip graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative health care services in any health care setting.

Prepare nurses and midwives to make independent decisions in nursing situations within their scope of practice, protect the rights of individuals and groups, conduct research in areas of nursing practice, and apply evidence-based practice.

Prepare graduates to assume the roles of practitioner, teacher, supervisor, and manager in all health care settings.
Objective
On completion of the B.Sc. Nursing program, the B.Sc. Nursing graduates will be able to
- Utilize critical thinking to synthesize knowledge derived from physical, biological, behavioral sciences, and humanities in the practice of professional nursing and midwifery.
- Practice professional nursing and midwifery competently and safely in diverse settings, utilizing caring, critical thinking, and therapeutic interventions with individuals, families, populations, and communities at any developmental stage and with varied health experiences.
- Provide promotive, preventive, and restorative health services in line with national health policies and programs.
- Integrate professional caring into practice decisions that encompass values, ethical, moral, and legal aspects of nursing.
- Respect the dignity, worth, and uniqueness of self and others.
- Apply concepts of leadership, autonomy, and management to nursing and midwifery practice to enhance quality and safety in health care.
- Utilize the latest knowledge and skills related to information and technology to enhance patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, peers, and all health care providers.
- Utilize the requisite knowledge, skills, and technologies to practice independently and collaboratively with all health professionals, applying principles of safety and quality improvement.
- Integrate research findings and nursing theory in decision-making for evidence-based practice.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to the Course
- The candidate should have passed 10+2 Examination with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology - PCB) and English Core from a recognized Board under AISSCE / CBSE / ICSE / SSCE / HSCE or any other equivalent Board.
- The candidate should secure an aggregate of 45% or more marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) taken together, and must have passed in English individually.
- English should be a compulsory subject in 10+2 for eligibility to the B.Sc. (Nursing) course.
- The candidate should have completed a minimum age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2024, and should not exceed a maximum age of 35 years as on 31st December 2024.
- Candidates found guilty of misconduct or convicted for any offence shall not be eligible for admission.
- The candidate should be medically fit.
- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- He/She must have appeared in NEET UG – 2024 and qualified for admission to the B.Sc. (Nursing) course in any Indian University/Institute.
Criteria for Rejection of Application Forms
- Candidates who fail to fulfill the age criterion.
- Candidates who fail to obtain the minimum stipulated marks in the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary / 10+2).
- Candidates who do not have English as a compulsory subject in 10+2 will not be eligible.
- Faulty submission, incomplete details in the application form, or non-receipt of the Application Processing Fee will lead to rejection.
Hostel Accommodation
The course will be completely residential in nature, and hostel accommodation will be provided to all the candidates admitted to the course.
Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction will be English.
